On a walk through the Howard Preserve today I couldn’t resist shooting a few images of this beautifully lit flower. The layers of color and contrast really caught my eye.

Absent Without Leave
That title is me-to-a-tea right now, isn’t it?
I could try and pull together a long list of excuses, but it really boils down to two things. 1) I moved into my new (and first) house; and 2) I really haven’t been photographing. Really, at all. I can only describe it as a lapse of passion. Pathetic but true.
However, today it was beautiful and sunny, and Mike and I hiked up to Pioneer Cabin from Corral Creek. It was stunning, as the Pioneers always are, and I snapped off a few shots. Let’s hope I may have sparked some passion again!
